L. Bradley Schwartz is an award-winning Chicago attorney with more than 20 years of courtroom trial experience. "He's just a great lawyer,," said Ed Grossman, executive director of the Chicago Legal Clinic, who honored Schwartz with one of the clinic's most prestigious awards. In May, Judge William J. Bauer of the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals presented Schwartz with the James D. Jacobson Memorial Award for his outstanding representation of many clients who needed quality legal help but could not afford to pay for an experienced lawyer.

"I'm proud of this award," said Schwartz. "I've come to understand that it really is about making sure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, has access to a lawyer who will fight for them." Addressing the roomful of attorneys, judges and politicians in attendance, Schwartz observed: "Look around. Everyone in this room knows who to call when they get in trouble. We represent people with nowhere to turn. Nobody to call."

In 2012, Schwartz founded L. Bradley Schwartz, LLC and he currently focuses his practice on providing legal assistance to persons suffering from disabilities, including amputations resulting from infections and trauma. Schwartz is an amputee himself, having survived a battle with bacterial meningitis that led to sepsis as a result of a misdiagnosis. Schwartz is a frequent participant in amputee support groups and he is a member of the National a Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants. He is also a member of the Amputee Coalition of America.
